Alaska State Parks Cabin Rentals on Resurrection Bay
Renting a Forest Service Cabin
($50 per night; sleeps up to 8 People)
The State Park cabins can be hiked to from our place if you get the "Derby Cove Cabin or the "Calisto Cabin". If you get the "Spruce Glacier or Porcupine Glacier Cabin" these would require a water taxi drop-off (and we can also take the kayaks for you on the taxi.) All of these rent for $50 a night, and are beautiful cabins. You would need to bring sleeping bags. You can see photos of them and how to rent them on our website: Just go to “Cabins” and choose "State Park Cabins" from the drop down list. These cabins are in extremely beautiful locations, excellent for hiking, kayaking, fishing and they all have wood stoves, and each one has 4 double bunks (sleeping 8). If you get the cabins at Thumb's Cove (Porcupine or Spruce cabins) then you would figure $50 per person round trip to take the water taxi there and back (no extra charge for the kayaks if you are renting from us). If you want a water taxi (instead of hiking) to the other two cabins, you would figure $30 one-way or $40 round trip, but you can also kayak to these cabins or hike to them on the low tides. These cabins are on a trail called the "Caine's Head Trail" which is one of the top ten hikes in Alaska (per Alaska Magazine). For more information on this hike, see the "Hiking Section" on our website. By the way, all of the private cabins listed there are near the trailhead so you can do this hike from those as well.

National Park Cabin Rentals
(Kenai Fjords Park Area)
National Park Cabins
($35 a night)
These are right in the heart of the Kenai Fjords National Park which is the ultimate area in kayaking in Alaska. Here you are sure to see whales, icebergs, seals, bird rookeries, glaciers and more. These cabins are very affordable; only $35 a night. There are two of them: One called the Holgate Glacier Cabin and the other the Aialik Cabin. Either one will hold your whole group but you would have to have your own camping gear, etc. They have wood stoves. To get there, though, it is about a 1 1/2 hour trip by boat. The water taxi there (which we do) would be $50 per person round trip. We would give you a discount for the kayak rentals as well on this trip if you used our water taxi services. If you need more information on how to get one of these cabins, just write back and let us know!
